27 March to 27 March 2010 | 08:30PM - 09:30PM
At 8.30pm on Saturday 27 March 2010, millions of people from around the world will join together for Earth Hour. Together, we can show how lots of little actions add up to one big statement on climate change.
CHECK LIST
Getting the most out of the night
- Turn off the lights! For one hour on Saturday, 27 March 2010, 8.30 PM.
- Register your commitment. Go to
www.earthhour.org.au. Tracking the number of people participating helps show how many of us care.
- Get together on the night. Gather friends, family and neighbours to enjoy the hour of “lights out”. Talk about what you want to do in 2010 to be
part of the solution to climate change.
- Hold a neighbourhood event. Earth Hour
gives people a shared sense of purpose and community. Your activity is only limited to your creativity. Candle-lit picnics, lantern parades, locally-sourced dinners, night bike rides and star-gazing can all be shared Earth
Hour activities.
- Link up globally. Do you have family or friends overseas? They can get involved too, at www.earthhour.org.
- Get on the net. WWF has lots of ways you can spread the word, and we supply Earth Hour artwork which can be downloaded for free at www.earthhour.org.au.
- Give eco-gifts. Did you know you can buy eco-products or sponsor a tiger threatened by habitat loss at www.wwf.org.au.
- Tell us what you are doing! If you are doing something fun, creative visual or personally significant, then please let us know! Email
earthhourmedia@wwf.org.au with your details.
