WaterWise Communities

From Friday the 15th of January 2010 Holdfast Bay residents, businesses, schools, churches, sporting and recreational facilities will be able to register for ‘WaterWise Communities’ and receive a FREE WaterWise Kit!

What is ‘Waterwise Communities’

WaterWise Communities is an initiative derived from the State Government’s Water for Good community education and engagement campaign and the Local Government Association (LGA) of South Australia. It aims to encourage residents, businesses, schools, churches, sporting and recreational facilities to demonstrate their commitment to being a responsible water user and reduce their water consumption by participating in the WaterWise Communities program, coordinated through Local Councils.

How do I register for the WaterWise Communities program?

To coordinate registrations, residents, businesses, community groups, sporting clubs, schools and churches are encouraged to register online via www.waterforgood.sa.gov.au from January 11 2009. This website will contain the following information:

  • Details of the program such as what is in the waterwise kit
  • Details on the registration process and an on line registration form
  • A list of participating Councils and the names of all residents/organisations (with their permission) within the Council area who have registered for the program

Together, Waterwise Communites will be formed – and through the registration process, we will be able to watch each Councils WaterWise community grow via the online Water for Good website.

Registrants to the program will also receive ongoing e-news updates about the progress with WaterWise Communities, Council successes and other waterwise conservation initiatives and updates.
